Guidelines for Selecting Colors

In selecting your perfect color, we offer these guidelines. First if you want a perfect match, it is always best to provide a swatch
of your own hair.

Generally, shades darker than your natural color will be severe, and shades significantly lighter than your natural color tend
to wash out your complexion. Remember, the goal is to achieve natural harmony between your complexion tone, hair color

As you age, slightly lighter shades will lift your complexion and brighten your overall appearance. If your hair has a percentage
of gray, you may wish to reduce the gray slightly within your color while not totally elimination a hint of gray Don't forget... in
these times over 50 can be fabulous! We have many shades of gray, from just a sprinkling to fabulous white.

Jacquelyn's selection of tones, highlights and root colors gives you beautiful color choices to match your own color, go slightly lighter or dare to wear a dramatically different shade.

Perfect Fit

Comfort begins with a good fit. Because everyone's head has a shape unique to that person, every Jacquelyn is detailed with Velcro tabs that can be easily adjusted to conform to your head. Fashion Wigs will show you the proper fit of your wig.

When fitting your wig, do not try to pull it beyond your natural hairline. Every Jacquelyn has the DETAILS hand-knotted hairline, featuring "new hair" growth that can be lightly teased and lifted with a teasing comb for a completely natural hairline.

Styling

Always use a vent brush or pick for curly styles and a wire brush for straight styles. Avoid using standard hair brushes, as these brushes can create excessive tension, over-stretching the hair with abrasive strokes that may damage the hair.

While its important to brush the hair through, you should avoid a brush that is too harsh as frizzing or tearing can occur.

THINK IN REVERSE when brushing your wig. Start from the ends and work gradually toward the root area of the hairpiece. When using a wire pick work the curls from ends to root area as well.

STYLING IS GREATLY ENHANCED between washings with Jacquelyn's Liquid Mousse. For curly or wavy styles, it is considered an essential styling tool. Just mousse, hand scrunch and pick the style into curls. On straight styles, mousse and brush lightly. Jacquelyn's Conditioners also are recommended to maintain your hairwear.

Wigs do not have the natural oils from your scalp to keep the hair soft. Regular use of Jacquelyn spray on conditioner will keep your wig soft and supple while extending the life and wear of your wig.

Restyling

TO SPOT STYLE, add mousse or gel and use electric rollers on a medium setting. Only hair directly in contact with rollers will
be spot set. NEVER USE A CURLING IRON ON WIGS!

TO COMPLETELY RESTYLE, we recommend taking your wig to a professional stylist. If you decide to restyle at home, going from curly to straight or vice versa, please read these guidelines.

(1) Place wig securely on wig stand. Use electric rollers on a dry wig, regular rollers or pin curls.
(2) Removes tangles with a wig brush.
(3) Using the same directional styling as on a human head of hair, pick up hair and wind on roller or curl, smoothing ends as you go.
(4) Use a medium setting with electric rollers or hair dryer. With a hair blower, be sure to circulate medium heat evenly and continuously, keeping about 12" from wig.
(5) Allow hair to cool before removing rollers or pincurls.
(6) Lightly backbrush or backcomb and tease up on areas desired. Brush style in place, using Jacquelyn's Liquid Mousse.

Wash & Dry Instructions

Generally, a wig should be washed after 12-15 wearings. Factors such as air quality and humidity will contribute to frequency of washing, as it does with your own hair. Always keep your own
hair clean when wearing your wig to reduce washing frequency.

Before washing, brush straight styles gently but completely with a wire brush. Brush curly styles lightly with a vent brush or pick, keeping curls intact.

Add a cap of Jacquelyn's Wig Shampoo to basin of cool water (never use hot water). Immerse wig, dousing it gently, and allow to soak for 2 minutes. Rinse completely by swishing in clean, cool water. Gently squeeze excess water from wig. For high luster and softness, apply hair conditioner. Leave on 5 minutes and rinse well, in cool water. Gently squeeze out excess water.

On curly styles, lightly finger squeeze curls while wig is still wet.

On all styles, gently towel blot wig to remove excess wetness. Place wig on a form and allow to air dry naturally. Do NOT comb or brush a wet wig unless you are completely restyling it. After wig is dry, shake out and style.

Always place dry wig on wig stand when not being worn.

Human Hair Blends and 100% Human Hair wigs should be blow dried and or set to achieve a natural look. You may want Fashion Wigs to do this for you professionally.

Even if you wash your own wig, occasional professional styling by us is important. We charge between $35 - $50 for this service, depending on whether your wig is synthetic, or Human Hair.

If you are out of our area you can send us your wig and we will return it to you, washed, conditioned and styled. Shipping charges will be added to the cost.
